CPKC drags feet on attendance and sick leave negotiations

Summary: SMART-TD calls out CPKC for adopting the worst parts of their American Class I cousins’ policies without meeting to negotiate essential benefits. By not negotiating sick leave and other essentials in a timely manner, the railroad is setting itself up for failure, both on the rails and as union members seek fair hearings.

Ukrainian rail workers need our assistance

Rail workers in Ukraine are running low on personal protective equipment and other supplies. SMART Transportation Division is taking up a collection of these items to deliver to their union. DIPP assessments drop to 32 cents per dollar of daily benefit coverage

Effective July 1, 2024, the monthly DIPP assessment for participants will be reduced from 50 to 32 cents per $1 of daily benefit coverage. This reduction and a 90% + approval on all new claims make SMART DIPP the premier option for discipline income protection in the industry.
