Head to the rolling hill country for a little underground adventure! Natural Bridge Caverns, recently voted one of the top ten caves of the United States is a short half hour drive from your hotel and a world away from the everyday! Except for the lighting, walkways and handrails, you will find the North Cave much the same as the discoverers did in 1960. There is an incredible world of towering and majestic formations created at an average rate of only one cubic inch every one hundred years. Following the hour and a half tour of the caverns, we will make our way to Gruene, Texas, a quaint hamlet where guests will uncover a different kind of treasure, boutique shops filled with a bounty of gifts, antiques, clothing and jewelry. Gruene is also home to the oldest dance hall in Texas, Gruene Hall.

Sizzling Hot San Antonio – A Taste of the City
Discover all the sites, sounds and flavors San Antonio has to offer with these small bites of history, architecture and culture. We begin with a privately chartered barge ride through San Antonio’s infamous waterways. The meandering banks take us through a century of history, legend and lore. And when it comes to history, nothing defines San Antonio quite like The Alamo, so to understand and appreciate the significance of that great battle we’ll take in the award winning IMAX film: The Price of Freedom. But what’s a trip to San Antonio without tasting its cuisine? Enjoy a great buffet lunch at the Historic Menger Hotel. Known for its beauty and charm, this great hotel was used by Teddy Roosevelt to recruit his famed Rough Riders. Our final stop is at the most famous mission in San Antonio, the Alamo herself. The Alamo is where 189 defenders fell to Santa Anna’s army of more than 2,000 on March 6, 1836. The heroism of these “Texicans” paved the way to Texas independence.

Theme Reception – Viva Fiesta

When: Tuesday, June 13
Where: Lonestar Ballroom, 2nd floor
Time: 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Entertainment: Chris Story and the Southern Edge Band

Under the leadership of Chris Story, Southern Edge has been thrilling their guests with country favorites of yesterday and today, big band swing, rock, blues, salsa and variety dance music of all styles. Dinner dances, reception music and musical entertainment have never been so much fun!

Attire: If you or your significant other are wondering what to wear to this themed event, please take this suggestion – A fiesta is a party by any name, but with a spicy Latin American flair. The lively spirit of a fiesta reflects not just in the vibrant colors of Mexican clothing but in the rich embroidery and festive embellishment you see on both traditional duds and modern adaptations. Whether crashing a fiesta down the block or hitting Mexico, bright colors and airy fabrics will fit right in.
