SMART Local 214 is currently looking for motivated workers of all skill levels to fill positions performing sheet metal and industrial welding in New Orleans and Baton Rouge Areas.

SMART Local 214 sets the area standards in wages and benefits. No matter what your skill level we have a competitive wage package for you. Our pay packages includes health insurance and retirement savings at no additional cost to you.
Our Benefits don’t come off your hourly wage, they are in addition to what you make on the check!
Our Apprentices start out at $13.86/HR with an additional $8.80 in benefits for a total wage package of $22.66/HR.
Apprentices receive significant increases as they progress through our program.
Our Journeymen make up to $29.32/HR on the check with an additional $13.57 in benefits for a total wage package of $42.89/HR.
Our Apprentices start out at $14.57/HR with an additional $6.55 in benefits for a total wage package of $21.12/HR.
Apprentices receive significant increases as they progress through our program.
Our Journeymen make $29.13/HR on the check with an additional $14.35 in benefits for a total wage package of $43.48/HR.
Work Opportunities

- Commercial HVAC Duct Work
- Industrial Sheet Metal/Welding

Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- Have a valid State issued ID
- Have dependable transportation
- High School Diploma or GED (For Apprenticeship Applicants Only)
- Pass a Pre-employment Drug Screening
- Have the desire to learn and works well with others
- Use industry related tools and safety products
- Authorized to work in the United States
