SMART Local 235 is currently looking for motivated workers of all skill levels to fill positions performing sheet metal, Roofing, and Architectural Metal work (wall panels) on the NextStar Energy Windsor Battery Plant Development.
Be A Part Of History
Local 235 Sheet Metal Workers and Roofer’s signatory contractors have secured work on the the upcoming NextStar Energy Windsor Battery Plant.
This $5 billion dollar project is estimated to need approximately 100 workers performing HVAC, 150 Sheeters installing wall panels, and 100 roofers at the peak of construction needed to build this site and you could be one of those skilled workers.
The project encountered delays in 2023, that being said the project is now moving forward, we are anticipating a need for workers coming in February and March there will be numerous opportunities forthcoming, fill out the form at the bottom of the page for more information.
Competitive Wages and Benefits
SMART Local 235 sets the area standards in wages and benefits. No matter what your skill level we have a competitive wage package for you.
Our Apprentices start out at $19.83/HR with an additional $9.81 in benefits for a total wage package of $30.32/HR.
Apprentices receive significant increases as they progress through our program.
Our Journeymen make $46.79/HR on the check with an additional $18.50 in benefits for a total wage package of $67.37/HR.
Our Apprentices start out at $23.57/HR with an additional $11.14 in benefits for a total wage package of $36.91/HR.
Apprentices receive significant increases as they progress through our program.
Our Journeymen make $41.99/HR on the check with an additional $14.86 in benefits for a total wage package of $59.08/HR.
Our Apprentices start out at $21.26/HR with an additional $11.68 in benefits for a total wage package of $33.62/HR.
Apprentices receive significant increases as they progress through our program.
Our Journeymen make $46.70/HR on the check with an additional $18.49 in benefits for a total wage package of $67.37/HR.
Work Opportunities

- Miscellaneous Metal Work

Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- Have a valid ID
- Have dependable transportation
- High School Diploma or GED (For Apprenticeship Applicants Only)
- Physically able to bend, lift (50+ pounds) and stand for long periods of time
- Have the desire to learn and works well with others
- Use industry related tools and safety products
- Authorized to work in Canada
