We are currently looking for Skilled Sheet Metal Workers with experience performing the following:
- Architectural Sheet Metal
- Commercial HVAC Duct Work
- Light Commercial HVAC Duct Work
- Shop Fabrication

SMART Local 40 sets the area standards in wages and benefits. No matter what your skill level, we have a competitive wage package for you. Our members receive an hourly wage with additional benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401K, and pension all provided at no extra cost to you.
Our Benefits don’t come off your hourly wage, they are in addition to what you make on the check!
Our Journeyperson’s earn $43.89 on the check with $39.48 in benefits for a total package of $88.37.
Our First Year Apprentice’s earn $21.95 on the check with $25.12 in benefits for a total package of $47.07.
Requirements
- License: Must Possess valid SM.1 or SM.2 Connecticut Sheet Metal License For Duct Install, Excluding Shop and Architectural.
- Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Education: Must be a high school graduate or possess a GED.
- Aptitude: Must possess the basic aptitude essential for acquiring the skills and proficiency of the trade.
- Physical: Must be physically able to perform the work of the trade. May also be subject to pre-employment physical and/or drug screening.
- Residency: Must be a U.S. citizen or have appropriate work permits.
- Location: Must live in proximity to our territory boundaries in order to attend classroom instruction.
