We are currently looking for Skilled Trades Workers with experience performing the following:
- Industrial and Large Commercial HVAC Duct Work
- Architectural Metal Wall Panels
- Welders
- Shop Fabrication
- Specialty Metal Work

Local 26 Wages and Benefits
SMART local union 26 sets the area standards in wages and benefits in Northern Nevada. No matter what your skill level, we have a competitive wage package for you. Our members receive an hourly wage with additional benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401K, and pension all provided at no extra cost to you.
Our Benefits don’t come off your hourly wage, they are in addition to what you make on the check!
APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM:
The program includes 6,400 hours (approximately 4 years) of on-the-job training and 160 hours of related instruction each year. SMART Local #26 JATC is approved for Veteran Benefits. Military Veterans who qualify for Veteran benefits may receive benefits directly to them during their term of apprenticeship (www.gibill.va.gov).
Our Market Area Tech wages start at $15.36/HR to $21.94/HR. (plus benefits) depending on experience level.
Our Apprentices start at $19.75/HR plus Benefits!
Apprentices receive over $2.00 an hour raise every 6 months as they progress through our program.
Our Journeymen make $43.88/HR plus benefits.
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- Have a valid State issued drivers license
- Have dependable transportation
- High School Diploma or GED (For Apprenticeship Applicants Only)
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening
- OSHA 10 Card (Construction)
- Authorized to work in the United States
** welding certifications are a plus**
