Local 48 members are the skilled, trained and certified craftspeople who fabricate, install and maintain HVAC systems in schools, office buildings, hospitals and homes, from Florence, Huntsville, Gadsden and Anniston to Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Montgomery and everywhere in between. We work to improve the air Alabamans breathe, keep people warm in the winter and cool in the summer, build and maintain energy efficient buildings, and ensure the success of nuclear plants, gas plants, coal plants, automotive plants and commercial buildings in our state — and much more. Through collective bargaining, we raise living and working standards in our communities.
