Are you as active as you should be?yourtracktohealth

In less than 15 minutes a day, you can do a few simple and effective strengthening exercises that may help you set some health and wellness goals. Below are some simple exercises that can be done just about anywhere, according to Yourtracktohealth.com.

Yourtracktohealth.com is your online gateway to information, tools and resources about your railroad health and welfare benefits.

Check with your doctor before starting any exercise program or increasing your activity level. This is especially important if you have any health conditions (i.e. arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, pregnancy, neck, back or knee problems, etc.). He or she can tell you what types and amounts of activities are safe and suitable for you.

If you experience any symptoms of weakness, unsteadiness, light-headedness or dizziness, chest pain or pressure, nausea, or shortness of breath while exercising, stop immediately and contact your doctor. If it is an emergency, call 911. Mild soreness after exercise may be experienced after beginning a new exercise. Contact your physician if the soreness does not improve after two to three days.

Connect with a personal health coach to help you get and stay on track with your health.

Don’t forget that as part of your railroad benefits, you have access to a personal health coach who can work with you to develop an exercise plan to help improve your overall health. To connect with a health coach, contact your medical benefit administrator:

• Aetna members: Railroad Employees National Plan: (800) 842-4044; NRC/UTU Plan: (888-332-8742).

UnitedHealthcare holds enrollment under GA-23111

healthcarenews2During November and December 2014, UnitedHealthcare will hold an open enrollment under Group Policy GA-23111. During this period, any individual who is eligible for coverage under one of the GA-23111 plans can enroll and will be accepted for coverage without any medical underwriting or requirement of good health.yourtracktohealth

There are no limitations for pre-existing conditions. Enrollment in November and December 2014 will be for coverage effective Jan. 1, 2015. Only those applicants whose completed enrollment form is postmarked in November 2014 or December 2014 will be considered for open enrollment.

This open enrollment is being held for former railroad employees (and their dependents) who:

  • Were previously covered under any railroad health plan and were represented by a railway labor organization or,
  • Were members in accordance with the constitution or by-laws of one of the participating railway labor organizations, when coverage under their applicable group health plan ended.

If someone you know meets these GA-23111 eligibility provisions, open enrollment provides an opportunity for them to become covered. Other eligible members of your family may also enroll if they are not currently covered. In addition, open enrollment under Plan F is available for railroad employees’ parents or parents-in-law who are eligible under Medicare.

Anyone interested in enrolling should call one of the following phone numbers to get additional information about these plans:

  • For persons eligible for Medicare, call (800) 809-0453;
  • For persons not eligible for Medicare, call (800) 842-5252.

Visit YourTracktoHealth.com to download an enrollment form and view plan rates.

Healthcare open enrollment online until Nov. 1

Railroad employees covered under National Railway Carriers/UTU Health and Welfare Plan or the Railroad Employees’ National Health and Welfare Plan were mailed a notification of the online open enrollment period that began Oct. 1, 2014, and ends Nov. 1, 2014. The information should be specific to the current enrollment for you and your eligible dependents.yourtracktohealth

The online enrollment capability provides the ability to view your personal information, add, delete and update dependent information, view enrollment materials, enroll in benefits for next year, and receive an immediate confirmation statement. There is no need to mail in a paper enrollment form. However, if you need assistance, have questions or require a paper enrollment kit, call Railroad Enrollment Services at (800) 753-2692.
