Labour Mobility Deduction (LMD) – Canada.ca
For the 2022 and subsequent taxation years, the Budget introduced a new deduction called the Labour Mobility Deduction for Tradespeople. This deduction may be available to a tradesperson or apprentice and allow them to claim eligible temporary relocation expenses paid during the 2022 and subsequent taxation years.
Apprenticeship Grants – Canada.ca
A number of grants are available to apprentices through the Canadian federal government.
Canada Apprentice Loan – Canada.ca
The Canada Apprentice Loan is an initiative of the Government of Canada to help you complete your apprenticeship in a designated Red Seal trade.
With the Canada Apprentice Loan, you can get up to $4,000 in interest-free loans per period of technical training. You can use the money to help pay for tuition, tools, equipment and living expenses, to cover forgone wages or to help support your family.
Occupational health and safety in federally regulated workplaces – Canada.ca
As an employee, you have a key role to play in preventing work-related injuries and diseases. First, you have to be careful and take the necessary precautions to ensure your own health and safety and that of any colleagues who may be affected by your work or activities.

*Please note that only qualified applicants from locals that participate by collectively bargaining to contribute or to authorize check-offs at one cent per hour worked are eligible for the four-year scholarships. All other eligible applicants will be considered for the scholarship foundation’s single-year scholarships for undergraduate study.
A Red Seal endorsement is a seal on your provincial or territorial trade certificate. It shows that you have the knowledge and skills necessary to practice your trade across Canada.
To get the Red Seal endorsement, you need to pass the Red Seal exam.
